A San Antonio-based wellness juice bar rooted in plant-based recipes and community healing, Southwest Elixirs has become a destination for those seeking freshness from the inside out. We sat down with co-founders Madison and Santiago to talk about how SpaceMusic AI became part of their space.
Why Music Matters in a Wellness Space
"We think about every single element of the customer experience — the ingredients we source, the way we greet people, the light in the room. Music is no different. When someone walks in for a cleanse or a morning smoothie, we want them to feel like they've stepped somewhere intentional."
"But curating playlists took real time. One of us would be behind the bar, making cold-pressed juice, and the music would shift into something too upbeat, or a song would come on with lyrics that just broke the vibe. It sounds small, but it matters."

Discovering SpaceMusic AI
"We actually found it through a friend who runs a café in Austin. She mentioned that she'd stopped building Spotify playlists altogether. That got our attention."
"Our brand is built around the idea that wellness should feel approachable and grounded — not sterile, not overly trendy. We needed music that matched that energy without us having to think about it every morning."
First Impressions
"The first thing that stood out was that the music felt made for the room. It wasn't pulling from a playlist someone else built. It was generating something that fit the mood we dialed in — and it just kept going. No ads, no jarring transitions, no sudden tempo change."
"Santiago noticed pretty quickly that customers were staying longer. Not dramatically, but noticeably. The space just felt more comfortable to be in."
How They Use It Day-to-Day
"We open at 7am, and the morning crowd is different from the lunch crowd. In the morning we want something calm and grounding — people are just waking up, maybe doing a cleanse. By midday we can bring a little more energy in. Before, that meant two different playlists we had to remember to switch. Now it's just an adjustment on the iPad and we're done."
"The instrumental-only output is huge for us. We talk to our customers. We want to know how they're feeling, what they're looking for. Lyrics compete with that conversation. The AI-generated music sits underneath everything perfectly."
The Response from Customers
"We've had people ask us who made the music — which is kind of a funny question to answer. We just say it's generated fresh, for the space. Most people love that. It fits the brand. We're already talking about freshness in everything we serve."
"One customer told us the music made her feel like she was somewhere that had 'figured it out.' That stuck with me. That's exactly what we're going for."
Looking Ahead
"We're growing. We want Southwest Elixirs in more neighborhoods, serving more people. Every new location needs to feel like us — the same warmth, the same care. SpaceMusic AI gives us one less thing to recreate from scratch each time. The atmosphere travels with us."
"Our whole mission is helping people heal and feel their best. The music is part of that now. It's part of the medicine."
